THE PROCESS OF LOGISTICS

IMP recognises that logistics will play a critical role in its success, primarily because poorly planned and executed logistics waste money.  To ensure this, IMP will hire a Officer of Logistics who will manage all logistics based assets (trucks and barges) and will organise a team of drivers, loading excavator operators, and stevedores to load and unload barges.

While every operation al activity includes logistics, the use of the word in this context is the transport of ore from the mine to the Concentrate Plant in Cikande.  The primary elements encompassing logistics in this case are:

1.   Loading high grade ore (25% metal content) onto 8 MT trucks

2.  Hauling ore form the mine to the IMP jetty and depositing ore in a stockpile at the jetty

3.  Loading ore onto a barge (requiring an excavator to load the trucks, and excavator in the barge move ore in the barge)

4.  Unloading ore from the barge to the Java side jetty, requiring an excavator to load ore into 8 MT trucks in the barge

5.  Depositing the ore into a stockpile at the jetty

6.  Loading ore onto 20 MT trucks, requiring an excavator to load the trucks

7.  Hauling ore from the jetty to the Cikande Concentrate Plant

The cost elements are:

1.   The cost of hauling from the mine to the jetty, including excavator loading from the stockpile and unloading at the jetty

2.  The cost of the Kumai Jetty rental

3.  The cost of loading the ore onto a barge, requiring an excavator loading the trucks, and an excavator unloading the trucks in the barge

4.  The cost of barging from Kumai Jetty, Central Kalimantan, to Bojonegara Jetty, Serang, Western Java

5.  The cost of unloading the barge

6.  The cost the Bojonegara Jetty rental

7.  The cost hauling ore from the Bojonegara Jetty to the IMP Concentrate Plant at Cikande, including an excavator to load at the jetty

8.  Fuel payments at each stage

IMP is committed to hyper efficiency and low cost solutions that results in the lowest loss of ore.
